Powerful Scalability, Reliability and Efficiency
Several Internet Content Filtering and Internet Access Management solutions are available commercially, based around a range of similar technological approaches. Many are characterised by relatively high failure rates (misclassification of content), low capacity, inefficiency and unresponsiveness.
Recognising the need for a comprehensive, powerful and highly efficient solution, Internet Sheriff Technology's developers sought to apply their first-hand experience in the areas of multi-threaded internet-based application development and in-depth knowledge of kernel architectures to the task of engineering a general-purpose internet content management system.
Radically different from all existing content filtering systems, our technology has been developed to make maximum use of highly complex but extremely powerful multi-threading capabilities and network-based 'on-demand' serving of URL content categorisations. Complementing this innovative network-based approach to maintaining relevance of previously encountered URL content classifications is an equally novel approach to real time modelling of 'new' content in real time as it passes through the network.
By applying the statistical technique of logistic regression, sets of predictive equations were developed and their reliability tested and verified, initially under trial conditions and later in full production environments. Development has progressed by a carefully planned, staged approach with release of software upgrades and new versions as alpha and beta releases.
Our software applications are built around a proprietary central Media Control Engine (MCE), designed to provide a stable highly efficient facilitating infrastructure for the integrated operation of a set of 'plug and play' application modules. This software architecture has enabled the development of a highly scalable, seamless solution with email scanning and anti-virus modules through the MCE requiring no additional application software and making very efficient use of computing power. Our competitors' solutions generally require the purchase of additional application software and demand significantly more server and database hardware.
Internet Sheriff Technology Ltd's patent protected real time behavioural analysis technology accurately categorises content in real time employing models developed using sophisticated logistic regression analysis. This complements an innovative, highly efficient, distributed approach to the serving of definitive URL content categorisations across the network from a local Customer Relevant Database and the iSheriffTM Master Database. End-user driven serving of relevant categorisations is a key feature of our technology, optimising performance and allowing for better levels of security. Most web filtering technologies rely on some combination of large local caches of categorisation databases that are not refreshed in real time and key word filtering that is inaccurate.
A key attribute of our technology is the application of the all-important concept of working smarter not harder - more is not necessary better.
